Going Away-
I should have written about this right away when it was fresh in my head, just as I would assume most people should write about most things when it's fresh in their heads. Anyway, I remember it being great and to anyone reading this who was there or contributed or both, I am extremely grateful and it was a wonderful way to permanently engrain into my memory a lasting farewell to my friends and family. But now the past is past and I will talk about Italy.

So, the big question. Did you shave the scruff, comb the hair, and various other common social niceties shunned by you and your friends? ... or did you venture abroad as the shaggy jimmy we've come to know and love?

I think it's going to be your job to share how to have a loving family relationship.
Thanks so much for the pictures. I found the folder and just looked and looked, trying to decide where you were, what you were up to in them.
I hope your year is fulfilling, broadening, good for the kids, and you see things you like and don't like, growing from both.
What's the best thing you've experienced so far? Worst? What problems (well, what some people call challenges) do you foresee, and how can you handle them? You write the most about Alessandro.
Love you lots,
Mom (do other people read this?)
How do you like the wine and is it available in the USA?
Do you have pictures of the family?
Lots of questions, but hope you are enjoying yourself.
Tells us more when you have time.

Hey Jim,
It's your mom, again. (If you get tired of me writing, just say so.)
Well, we miss you still, and hope that things are getting better each day. Knowing your love of friends and being with people, I hope that you latch on to a nice person who wants to practice their English, so you can practice your Italian with them. In the meantime, write the novel of your year in Italy. It could open up a whole new career for you!
The house looks beautiful. I hope you will come back and show us how to make wonderful Italian meals. Hmmm, it may be time to make friends with the chef.
I got offered a free lunch at Dynasty for 10 friends by a lady who wanted to help each of us with financial planning. So, Eileen, Marg. and Jack, Richard, Elizabeth, and a couple of other people and I had a free lunch yesterday at Dynasty. Wish you could have been here, but now we have to listen to a lady talk about our future planning.
I wish there were more to write about. Jack and Mar. and Richard and I went to see Half Nelson tonight. If you get a chance, see it. You'd like it.
Well, it's late and time for me to get to bed. I miss you and
love you lots.
Mom
